Yesterday was unseasonably warm, crazy warm, 86 degrees warm in December!
Given that a good deal of the country has had snow and ice and sub-freezing temperatures, I know it's unsportmanship like of me to complain. But really....I like a bit of a chill in the air in December. I like to light a fire, and have candlelight dinners in the cozy dining room with the smell of evergreens reminding me of the season.
But instead, I set an outside table, it was that warm, even after the sun set, and made beet salad with goat cheese, grilled chicken and artichokes.
It was a delightful evening, but I'm ready for a little seasonal weather. ppsssttt...I 'ironed' the table cloth with photo shop......onlly slightly better then I ironed it in real life....
Now I'm jealous!! It's bitter cold here in Windy City. I could celebrate Christmas with palm trees and high temperatures. No need for cold to get into the seasons mood. ;)) Gabriella
ReplyDeleteOh Marcia, I'd trade places with you in a minute. Nothing like getting off of work at 6:30am with 7 degrees weather, snow & whipping winds & jump starting a coworkers car...but hey! It is Ohio, isn't it???
ReplyDeleteBTW...you are wonderful in getting me the instructions so fast for Collage. I'm hoping to get working on that one soon as I need some Dot + Bead times.
4F checking in here! FOUR DEGREES! Holy moly.
ReplyDeleteSo we don't hate beets together anymore, I guess you are a beet-convert?
I know I romanticize the good parts, the peaceful white pristine snow and forget the bad parts, cold and wind that hurts, grey slush.....
ReplyDeleteKate your memory is amazing.....and yes, I've given beets another try, they need to be roasted and the proportion of beet to other stuff needs to be minimal and then I have found the ability to enjoy them, in moderation
