Could that be true? It appears I have too many seed beads.....well in reality I have too many old tubes, bought at retail, may or may not be labeled with the color number, may or may not be repeatable. This all means that as long as I design for repeatability, they are hard for me to use. And they are taking up a lot of space, so, if you like seed beads
Leave me a comment on this post by midnight tonight. Tell me your favorite colors (no guarantees, but if you are a lime green girl let me know, or if you prefer matte metallics, or high contrast, or analogous color ways) and I'll try my best. I will randomly pick one winner and mail you off a small flat rate priority box of seed beads.
I have way more then one box, so expect to see this giveaway repeated often in the next few weeks. I'm motivated to open up some space!
Yesterday we moved all but the perimeter furniture and steam cleaned the carpet. Today a trip to the local fixture store for some more slat wall fixtures so I can file all the new seed beads that don't yet have room on the wall. I have begun a quest for the perfect seating arrangement, but against my usually impulsive nature I've decided to make do with the current table and chairs and take a slow search for what seems just right. I'd like to seat 12 comfortably and that might be a 6' square or a really long rectangle. I'm hoping a local consignment shop might have the perfect dining room table so I have plans to start scouting then out once a week.
Neutrals! I love neutrals. All the browns, blacks, whites, and inbetweens. If you forced me to pick an actual color, it'd have to be teal :)
ReplyDeleteI am a turquoise and metallic girl.
ReplyDeleteI am a turquoise and metallic fan.

ReplyDeleteI love everything blue & silver! I just gave away a great deal of glass & wood beads so I feel good (& not greedy) about tossing my name in the hat! Thanks for the opportunity & I hope you find the furniture your heart (& design eye) desires!
ReplyDeleteI'm dreaming of a matte metallic seed bead pack :-))))
ReplyDeleteThank you!
You are an inspiration, Marcia ! I love bronzes, coppers, Browns and olives!
ReplyDeleteNow.. Off to my stash to see what it can organize and find a new home for !
Your stories of studio assembly are a delight to read!
I'm game! Matte metallics are my new favorites. I've ordered loads of them in the past, but just recently started using them and I'm in love. I found some lovely new shades at Beyond Beadery in Tucson, and I just love the way they go with those sparkly crystals!
ReplyDeleteMarcia - turquoise and related southwest palate, either shinny or metalic or matte. It's all good. Topaz blends well with that palate also, i'm up for any of your colors, you pick great blends.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think I'd ever see that title on your blog. lol!
ReplyDeleteMetallics, AB finishes, earthtone
any and all bright colors!
ReplyDeleteany and all bright colors!

ReplyDeleteI like everything. I
ReplyDeleteI to make a love a good bead soup.
I collect the beads off the floor and make stuff with that.
So any orphans that need a home would be fine with me
Shame you're not in Texas. An internet friend of mine has a gorgeous second hand shop in Livingston, and she posts photos of all her finds. I bet she'd have no trouble finding you that table!
ReplyDeleteAs for your over abundance of seed beads, I've started using them in my pieces again, but since I don't use large amounts of the same shades and colors, restocking the exact same ones aren't a problem for me :) Odds and ends are fabulous :D
I've developed a love of matte, but can't resist sparkle or glitter, so everything is good :)I have tons of browns, whites and blues, so don't really need any more of those, but I'm sure I'd find a use for them just the same ;)Plus I host monthly giveaways on my own blog, so I have no doubt that if I win one of these batches you clear out,I'll end up passing some of them on to someone else :)
I am reluctantly coming to the same conclusion you are, so don't enter me in the draw; I never thought I would actually say that, but I understand where you are coming from!
ReplyDeleteI prefer lime green and orange - it is spring! Also Matte metallics and semi matte lined crystal... I think, I like all colors.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!
Greetings from a fan from germany :-)
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI would love some green, I don't have much. But to tell you the truth the colour doesn't matter, it would come from you, this would be the most important to me. :) I'm totally in love with your designs (I think not just me) and it would inspire me if I could use them.
I live a bit far, I hope it's not a big a problem.
Greetings from Hungary.
turquoise, purple and pink and metallics, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love high contrast colors, and anything bluegreen. :)
ReplyDeleteturquoise (aqua, etc.) purple, pink and any metallics
ReplyDeleteMarcia, this is so generous!
ReplyDeleteI like lime greens in any finish, salmon pinks in any finish, and metallics - light blue / gold, bronze.
your giveaway is a good idea - I have a lot of colors I'm no longer using, and I may do this too. thanks for the idea.
Mary Alexander
Hallo,
ReplyDeleteich kann mir gar nicht denken, dass es ein Zuviel von schönen Dingen gibt. Ich liebe violett und grün. Nur wohne ich in Deutschland. Das ist ein bischen zu weit weg. Liebe Grüße von Ate
Marcia, I love matte beads of all kinds. My 'go-to' bases tend to be bronze beads and I use them with all shades of purples, teals and sea greens. If I need a pop of colour I often use a chartreuse or aqua bead. Colour combinations are a challenge which is why it's so great seeing what other beaders put together.
ReplyDeleteI love all colors of seed beads as long as there seed beads. I reasently moved and haven't been able to get any. And this would be a wonderful gift. Thanks Debby
ReplyDeleteWhat a generous gift. I am drawn to warm colors and matte metallics. As I age - I note that every color has its own special place.
ReplyDeletecasy.catalano@providence.org
How could you not love a seed bead? I love matte and matte metallic. Earth tones are my favorites, but turquoise and reds run a close second!
ReplyDeleteI like bronze of any finish and metallic iris, blues, reds and greens.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the give-away.
Hi Marcia! I love all things matte as well as the crazy neons and Mardi Gra like colors! Happy Beading!

ReplyDeleteBut, you know I love some blacks and whites, too!
any color would please me..might even force me out of my comfort zones
ReplyDeleteChoosing colour is easy, but 11 or 15's?? Good luck with your beads finding a new home.....
ReplyDeleteSeed bead love! I love all.....Pattyjean
ReplyDeleteSeed bead love. Any color is good for me!
ReplyDeleteI would never turn down seed beads. I usually like metallic or matte finish. The hybrid Toho beads are also wonderful.
ReplyDeletePurple...simply put. LOL
ReplyDeletePurple....simply put...lol. Thanks
ReplyDeleteNo such thing as seed bead overload for me. Every seed bead is a good seed bead. I LOVE the peacock colors of green iris/blue iris, with some beige and deep teal thrown in for good measure.
ReplyDeleteMatte metallic is of course always lovely, but blues and purples of all varieties are nice, too! Thanks for your generosity--I'll keep my fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteHi Marcia,
ReplyDeleteI'm a new beader since june and at this time i think i like all colours, but of course there are some favorites like turquoise and all transparent seed beads. And i love Right Angle Weave! You are so fantastique with this technique, marvelous!

ReplyDeleteWow! I love all the metallics and primaries, but haven't met a bead that I can''t love in some project.
ReplyDeleteWhat a generous giveaway, Marcia. Reading the comments, it sounds like I am in good company loving the metallics and neutrals. I can't imagine having too many beads. Missed you and Bad Liz on the cruise. I would love to see your studio some day.
ReplyDeleteDeb in warm Michigan
Ooooh, I don't think I could ever have too many seed beads! I love the greens and browns and metallics, especially copper. After that comes purple and blue. :)
ReplyDeleteI love all bright colors such as lime green, fuchsia, turquoise combined with bronze.....and of course how can you not love matte metallics!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is, like, the most difficult question, evah! OK, I don't use transparent beads, except with a heavy luster treatment (I don't want the thread to show). Non-matte ABs, are a hit and miss, as are yellows.
ReplyDeleteGreens - love.
Matte (plain,metallic,iris,AB) - love.
Metallics - love.
Gold, bronze, copper lined - love. Muted colours - love.
Colour lined - love especially inside a coloured bead.
Gold luster - love.
Pinks and purples (not neon) - love
Bright and pale colours - yes, please :)
I do have a couple of beady friends, in case I manage to get something I'm sure I can't use, so no pressure ;)

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful ting to do with your extra beads! I prefer aquas, teals, blues, greens & matte metallics. Love your blog, and your work!
ReplyDeleteI'm like so many of the others who have left a comment. Never met a seed bead I didn't love! I tend to buy lots of greens & pinks. I also use a ton of black and Red. I have recently gotten hooked on delicas. They may cause me to go blind but they are so dainty & you can put them with so many other beads.
ReplyDeletedoesnt it feel good!
ReplyDeleteuh matte metallics. uh any color!
I love lime green, turquoise, browns, blues; all colors really!
ReplyDeleteI would love to play with a palette of earthy hues with some matte metallics thrown in for fun. Add a little bright punch of color to keep it fom being too boring!
ReplyDeleteOooh it would be fun to win!
Nice Marcia!
I love the fall color palette, but I'm partial to browns.
ReplyDeleteHi Marcia!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have any beads you no longer need. I would be interested in blacks, browns, rusts. Matte or shiny. I'm planning to embroider around a mahogany obsidian cab I made. I might work a little antique gold in there too. I think this is a wonderful idea!

ReplyDeleteI love lime green, bright blues, bronze, red, yellow. I love the bright ones.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that I have a favourite colour, but I sure do have a favourite seed bead finish, which is matte metallic, closely followed by plain matte and frosted. I probably like the colours in the spectrum between blue and greed best - turquoise, aqua, eau de nil ...
ReplyDeleteHave fun sorting out your workroom Marcia, I hope it leads to lots more creativity!
With seed beads, I have a favourite finish more than a favourite colour: matte metallic, closely followed by plain matte and then frosted.
ReplyDeleteLooking at my bead work, I seem to use a lot of the shades between blue and green - turquoise, aqua, eau de nil ...
Have fun with the re-organising Marcia, and I hope it inspired lots of creativity!
Gray, any version or finish. I love gray!
ReplyDeleteYeah, yeah - I'm a lime green and jewel tone gal!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite colors are the matte metallics and matte colors in earthtones. I love how your bead room is set up. Such a beautiful place to work with your beads.
ReplyDeleteYou are an enabler, aren't you! Montana blue has to be my can't-have-enough-of-and always-am-out-of-color.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck picking a winner!
I like turquoise, aqua, pink and metallics!!!! Cool idea to destash.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely offer, thank you. Think I have some beads to gift, too,
ReplyDeletethanks for the nudge to get it done!
I am a blue & mauve girl from way back.
Oh dear, what time is where you are? I'm in Perth, Western Australia. Can I still play? I adore matte metalics, but really anything in the purple strain would be used here. Thanks even if I can't play. ;-)
ReplyDeleteOhhh my are you serious? I love matte beads and metallics... I can never seem to have enough of those in my stash.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing giveaway. I have my fingers, toes and every strand of hair on my head crossed...makes for a nice hairdo!!

What a great idea! Looking at my stash, I'm clearly a jewel tones with pewter kind of girl. Gunmetal goes with everything :)
ReplyDeleteI am sorry I missed getting in on this but yesterday was a day filled with TMI from my sweet daughter. I hope to get in on the next one as I have been told I have an utterly pitiful stash and with her in college it is not likely to grow very fast anytime soon. LOL Have a great day you Gorgeous Beady Goddess!
ReplyDeleteRecently I made a cuff for a friend and used matte metallic seed beads for the first time. I "f e l l i n l o v e w i t h t h e m".
