This is my veranda beading. The weather has been beautiful here in Lemon Grove California and I've taken my beading outside. You might also notice this is exceedingly neat for me! I'm working on two different samples, trying to get the colors just right. The third La Navette bracelet is being worked with a sphinx navette, black and hints of a dark red coral which one can see glints of in the stone. It's a bit unconventional for me and there were a few false starts but I think I have a solid plan now, which is good as there are people waiting on these sample.
On the right is a third Quattro Cupole (Four domes) in cyclamen opal. I tried making the necklace in a complimentary purple color, but I decided in the end I like the dark silver better so I'm waiting on a new order of peanut beads. This one I will teach for the first time in Japan so we are prepping kit materials at the same time. Here is the Pacific Opal Version. A 4th Cupole creates the clasp with a beautiful square snap beneath it, Just in case you were wondering where Quattro came from!
What's on your bead board?
I love that necklace SO much. It's elegant and sophisticated and very beautiful!! I also love your beading boards. Someday I will get one!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the idea of beading outside, but every time I've tried I've ended up with a tangled mess of thread because catches on things when the breeze catches it!! Do you have a trick for avoiding this problem?
ReplyDeleteI love beading on the beach under the umbrella. I found that #8 sunblock makes a wonderful thread conditioner, and your bead work smells like cocoa nuts!
ReplyDeleteMy veranda is reasonable wind protected so that's my solution.
ReplyDeleteLove the bracelet and all the colors used!
ReplyDeleteI bead on the patio and while camping (inside and out) and it's the best. Gentle breezes, dappled shade, blazing hot, freezing fingers - done it all. I love beading outside.
ReplyDeleteWhat's on my beading board? Finished the main part of Ganesha, actually put those beads away and started plotting the background, so those beads are on it.
I think JudiPatuti might have to develop a sleeve for the bead boards, smaller than the tote that she has that can hold a bead board, thread catcher and an assortment of beads, threads, scissors for traveling in a camper. One will have to match an Airstream and the other can be like mine.
Wow, that is gorgeous! As always, your colour combos are delicious.
ReplyDeleteA super beautiful design Marcia. Just perfect.
ReplyDeleteAre those lovely trays available? I will need several!!!
ReplyDeleteVery exciting, Did Judi do them?
