Color

Margie Deeb has once again put together a beautiful publication to guide you through 2010 Spring and Summer colors.

Her skills as a graphic artist are apparent in the clean easy to use layout.

It is an incredibly comprehensive look at not only the color trends but has lot's of additional information regarding how to combine colors. One that I found very helpful was a discussion of proportions and placement. Although I've been intuitively picking colors for my beadwork, Margie's explanations of what works are invaluable.

Oh, and...Aurelia is included in the artist color section!

Along with work by many other designs, all of which demonstrate use of the current trend colors.

To me, one of the real joys of beading is putting a thing next to another thing and seeing with my own eyes how the colors react, and play off of each other.

I can't imagine forgoing that experience to be in fashion, whatever that means, or using color combo design books to actually make my work, but it's fun to see the colors that others put together.
I was just looking over the Bradbury and Bradbury wallpaper catalog last night, marveling at the color and pattern combinations put together by the Aesthetics.

Gorgeous!

I purchased the Color Report a few days ago because it is an amazing help for those of us who tend to get into a color rut and keep designing with the same palette. It helps no end when putting my kits together.

I may just have to purchase this. I'm good with color but I do tend to get into a rut! I really love the turquoise (or aqua) with bright clear red. I've used it several times already with great results!
Bead Happy!

Turquoise and bright red, yes! I did that in my Mod Art Cuff last year, it was excellent. I like greens with hot orange reds, too, little tiny hot spacers.
