The New Year

A time of reflections on the past, dreams and hope for the future, reaching out to say hello to friends. Yes we can do all of that every day, but it is nice to have a calendar day dedicated to reminding us.

The year was good to me, bringing us the birth of our precious new grand daughter, continuing the success of MadDesigns with two new book contracts, lot's of exciting travel and a brand new back yard to enjoy.

This year that we begin today is the year of my 25th wedding anniversary and my 60th birthday, talk about milestones! I will be finishing up the first book and starting the second, so our July 4th anniversary should present an opportunity for an outstanding travel destination. So far we haven't decided, though we've discussed a few possibilities.

The one that most appeals to me at the moment is a leisurely drive up the coast of California, staying a day or two at some favorite spots and ending up in San Francisco at a bay view hotel for fireworks on the 4th.

In the meantime....there is a book to be written

I love these Kolo linen covered notebooks. This one is a three ring binder which holds all of the completed illustrations, the schedule, and all related book notes. The front has an insert to place a photo and I thought this one was fitting.

and a travel schedule to maintain...

Wishing you health and love as we move into the New Year.
